The 5 year and 5 month long R1 world trip was recorded by Sjaak on about 200 hours of video film. This with the idea to make a documentary of it that shows what traveling around the world by motorcycle really means.
In the US he met Brandon Green of Evergreen Images.
A friendship developed and that is how a documentary about Sjaak and his travels came about.
See the trailer below...
Sponsor Clymer Repair Manuals, just like Brandon located in Kansas City, wanted to share Sjaak’s journey with the general public. Brandon was asked to do this. He created 3 videos about Sjaak’s adventure, who had been on the road for three and a half years at that time.
However, much of the video material remained unused, which is why Marcus Kingma made several “Life on 2 Wheels Videoclips” about the first part of the adventure, years later.
Finally, there are also a few short clips made with the help of Peter, R1-Sjaak’s brother-in-law, to illustrate the MotoPort Magazine articles that Sjaak wrote during the monster ride. Enjoy!!
