Preparing for the season

Preparing for the season

Friday 4 March

• Fitted another set of used rubber on Florentina’s wheels and got rid of the winter remains on the pistons of her brake callipers.

• Busy making a list of events and shows where Florentina and I fit in and where I am allowed to sell my new book about the R1 World Travel. I try to get presentations in there too. Anybody interested in a presentation about my adventures, performed with a great sense of humour, enlivened with videos and photos?

Fun day testing two Kawa’s

Friday 26 February

• Together with Peter Muurman – who is into extreme travels on his Ducati 998 – I had a fun day, while testing two Kawa’s for a Dutch bike magazine.

• Brought a visit to the Motorbeurs, a huge annual bike trade show in the Netherlands.
This was a great opportunity to surprise supporting companies, like Hyperpro Suspension, with a copy of the English version of my R1 World Travel stories, ‘Life on 2 Wheels’.

Friday 19 February
• This week I want to say thanks to colleague adventurer and author, Nathan Millward.
The daily interviews on the MCN Adventure Stage, the Adventure Book Shop and the Travel Bikes on display, all were a great success!
Most of the credit for that goes to Nathan, together with MCN. Thank you very much for making this possible for us!

• Off course I want to thank the very interested audience of the Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show, where I launched my book, ‘Life on 2 Wheels’.

• The World Travel R1 and the Polar Ice Ride R1 attracted al lot of attention on their British Trade Show début.

• The first books are shipped out all over the world, so their buyers can relive my adventures from the comfort of their armchair.

• I drove my old Iveco van from London back to The Netherlands. Except for a short stop to tighten the V-belt and a breakdown exactly between two border posts, it did well 😀 .
